I am extremely upset with this. This has been happening alot lately. One member in particular is not showing up.
For this meeting, one member told the other 2 that he was going to be on vacation for this meeting and that the other two would need to be there. This was told to them last month (at least), so the other two could make sure that they were there.
This is a big meeting (about the budget) that we really need to get taken care of. We can't push it off. This is a meeting that is very important to all of us in Worth Township. I figure that the one member that is not showing up is doing it on purpose (as he doesn't want to make any decisions that might make someone else mad). Just the same as the fire budget, they voted against it and the emergency loan, but after the meeting (for the budget) came up and said that he was ok with the budget, but voted against because a few people didn't like it.
All three members (one in particular) wanted monthly meetings and he has only shown up a couple of times. He missed 3 meetings in a row. They also all fought hard to make sure that they got paid whether or not they showed up. We as taxpayer’s, elected these guys to be on this board and we are paying them to be there. When they are not there, they are still getting paid and we (as Worth township taxpayers) are throwing our money out the window.
If these guys really don't want to be on this board and actually show up to these meetings, then please resign and let the people that really care about what is going on take part. I am sure that there are other people out there that would be willing to put more effort into this then you have this year, if you decide that you want to keep up this pattern.
I may be harsh on this subject, because some people are not educating themselves enough to make decisions without being swayed. I have my own opinions, but I always still keep an open mind. I always make decisions that would be best for everyone (not just a select few). This is how we are supposed to make decisions.
It is a shame and a disappointment that this one member, ran against, won and assumed the place of someone who was totally dedicated.
Please, all members try and do your best to be at all meetings, or I will strongly (as a taxpayer) ask that you quit taking our money and resign.
